In June 2015, the UAOH Leadership conducted a fact-finding trip to Ukraine. During this trip Igor Shulyak and Jerry Oberndorfer visited with numerous government and non-government organizations in an attempt to build partnerships and to better understand the most pressing needs in Ukraine.
Because of UAOH’s priority on providing medical humanitarian assistance, visits were conducted with both the Minister of Health and the Health Committee within parliament. This trip reinforced the need for medical attention to assist in the health care of the citizens of Ukraine.
UAOH Leadership came away from this trip with a more complete understanding of how best to proceed to develop effective and meaningful relationships and partnerships that will result in serving the needs of the most vulnerable populations in Ukraine.
